Thousands gather in Tirana in major 'Pink Flamingo' protests
Protesters chanted slogans and carried slogans reading "Albania is not for sale" as they protested PM Edi Rama on his 62nd birthday for protests opposing a holiday resort project linked to the Trump family in a protected area in a southwestern part of the country.
For five weeks, people in Albania have been taking to the streets. The trigger is a controversial construction project in which the family of US President Trump is involved. Meanwhile, the protest is also directed against the country's government.
Tens of thousands of people marched in Tirana, the Albanian capital, to oppose a real estate project linked to Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner.
This 35th consecutive daily event has been the most important since the beginning of the rallies.
Thousands of Albanians came out on the street on Sunday to show their dissatisfaction with the government's policy of giving the Trump family a free hand to build a holiday resort in a protected area in the south-west of the country, Euronews reports.
