In Albania, hundreds of firefighters and soldiers are fighting forest fires in several regions of the Balkan country. On Monday, according to the Ministry of Defence, more than a dozen fires were active after nearly 40 fires had erupted nationwide in the past 24 hours. Thus, around 800 Albanian soldiers as well as military aircraft and helicopters from neighbouring countries are in operation at the side of the fire brigade.
