Alaska Air Group Integrates Hawaiian Ops Under Single Certificate ...

Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines now share one FAA certificate, integrating operations and planning a single passenger service system by April 2026 to enhance efficiency and guest experience.

  • On Wednesday, Alaska Airlines received a single operating certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration to operate alongside Hawaiian Airlines, retiring the `HA` callsign for the `AS` callsign.
  • After a year-long, multi-phase effort to harmonize training, policies, procedures and manuals, several Honolulu-based leadership roles take effect, naming Diana Birkett Rakow CEO of Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Passengers should note that Hawaiian flights keep the HA designator with new flight numbers, and moving to a single passenger service system in April will assign all flights the AS code.
  • Operationally, the SOC enables combining scheduling and passenger service systems and integrating flight crew, airport and maintenance teams under joint collective bargaining agreements.
  • In spring 2026, Hawaiian Airlines is scheduled to join the oneworld alliance and begin serving Europe, while flights will keep Pualani tail imagery and booking remains at alaskaair.com and hawaiianairlines.com.
