Alabaster man identified in fiery I-459 crash in Vestavia Hills

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. — An Alabaster man killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 459 last week has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. 20-year-old George N. Mathu, of Alabaster, died on Aug. 14 following a crash on I-459 North near mile marker 21 in Vestavia Hills. Mathu was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
