Alabama Shakes Announce New Album I Must Be Dreaming
The trio recorded the album in Nashville and will release a third single, “I Feel Hope Coming,” on Friday.
- Multi-GRAMMY award-winning Alabama Shakes announced their first new album in 11 years, I Must Be Dreaming, arriving August 28 via Island Records, recorded with producer Shawn Everett at Nashville's Sound Emporium Studios and Blackbird Studio.
- Following a 2024 reunion and their first formal tour in eight years throughout 2025, the band chose the title I Must Be Dreaming to reflect a 'double meaning' regarding the world's current state.
- On Friday, July 10, the band debuts I Feel Hope Coming, the third single, which Brittany Howard and Heath Fogg describe as inspired by the younger generation's political activism and optimism.
- Performing summer festivals in Europe, Alabama Shakes will return to North America later this month with a lengthy stretch of 2026 tour dates including headlining shows and festival appearances.
- The project follows previous singles Another Life and American Dream, and is currently available for pre-order as the band's first studio collection since 2015's Sound & Color.
