In Kütahya, one of Anatolia's leading industrial and commercial cities, the candidate supported by the AKP suffered a heavy defeat, while Esin Güral Argat won the election, sweeping the pack by winning all 15 committees.
A similar picture emerged in two important chamber elections in the business world. In Kocaeli, the list of Adnan Köşker, known for his AKP past, lost 38-0, while in Kütahya, the list of Mahmut Öztaş, who was openly supported by AKP Central Executive Committee member Erkan Güral, lost all 15 committees.
In the Kütahya Chamber of Commerce and Industry elections, Esin Güral Argat was re-elected as president, winning all 15 committees against her opponent Mahmut Öztaş.
