The anti-immigration Sweden Democrats apologised on Thursday for the party's past Nazi links and antisemitism, part of efforts to present a more moderate, mainstream image to voters ahead of a national election next year.
The document, commissioned by the Swedish Democrats, to a researcher, confirms the links between the party, founded in 1988, and the national-socialist movement. On Tuesday, its leader, Jimmie Akesson, had already presented his "apologies" to the Swedish Jews.
