Following the situation surrounding Ajax and the Harry Styles concerts, the rules have been tightened. Eredivisie clubs can now lose their home ground in the play-offs.
Ajax finished fifth in the Eredivisie last season and was therefore condemned to play-offs for European football. The two ‘home matches’ were played at the Kras Stadion in Volendam, because the Johan Cruijff Arena was occupied. Jan de Jong, director of Eredivisie CV, says that the rules have been tightened.
