RIAT Rival Air Show Near Wiltshire Cancelled at Short Notice as Company Collapses
Organisers said ticket holders should contact card providers for refunds after the two-day aviation event was cancelled.
On Monday, September 7, Montserrat Events & Festivals Ltd announced the immediate cancellation of the Hampshire Air Festival 2026, citing the business entering liquidation with directors "taking independent legal and insolvency advice."
Scheduled for September 12 and 13 at Thruxton Aerodrome, the two-day festival was first announced in December and promised warbirds, drone displays, and fireworks to aviation enthusiasts.
Thruxton Circuit expressed it is "disappointed" with the short-notice cancellation and clarified it has no knowledge of ticketing arrangements, directing holders to contact their card providers.
Montserrat Events has cancelled all remaining 2026 events, though the company has not provided a timeline for when further information will be available to suppliers and stakeholders.
Owned by Jonathan Moore and Vaughan Bidewell, the company previously managed the Victory Festival and Symphoria Experience at Stansted Park, expressing "profound sadness" over the operational closure.
