Avolon Orders 90 New Planes From Airbus
NORTH WALES, JUL 24 – The £10 billion order includes 15 A330neo and 75 A321neo planes featuring fuel-efficient engines and advanced cabins, reflecting strong demand through 2033.
- In a major deal, Airbus secured an order for 90 aircraft, including 75 A321neo and 15 A330neo, worth over £10bn, with wings assembled at Airbus Broughton in North Wales.
- Thanks to advanced design, the aircraft cut fuel burn and CO2 emissions by 20% and noise by 50%, highlighting the aircraft’s efficiency, fuel and noise savings, and SAF capability and target.
- Avolon increased its Airbus commitments to 413 aircraft, and the A330neo orderbook now stands at 55 aircraft, as reported by the company.
- As part of the deal, deliveries stretch out to 2033, and the A330-900, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, reduces fuel burn and CO2 emissions by 25%.
- The agreement includes purchase rights for 25 A321neos and options for 15 A330neos, and Avolon maintains a fleet of 145 A320neo models with commitments for 358 more.
