Airbnb Is Introducing a Private Car Pick-up Service
Airbnb partners with Welcome Pickups to offer private car rides in 125 cities, with thousands of users rating the pilot 4.96 out of 5, expanding its travel service options.
- On Tuesday, Airbnb partnered with UK-based Welcome Pickups to launch private car transfers in 125 cities across Asia, Europe, and Latin America, allowing guests to pre-book airport and station rides directly in the Trips tab.
- The rollout follows a successful pilot earlier in 2026 in Europe and Asia, where thousands of guests gave the service an average rating of 4.96 out of 5, building on Airbnb Services launched in May 2025.
- Dave Stephenson, Airbnb's Chief Business Officer, said the partnership is "designed to enhance a guest's stay from the moment they arrive," with bookings managed entirely in-app and fixed pricing determined by vehicle type.
- Airbnb now mirrors offerings from competitors like Expedia, Tripadvisor-owned Viator, and Booking.com, though the service remains unavailable in the United States, Canada, and Africa for now.
- CEO Brian Chesky flagged the airport pickup pilot earlier this year as part of an ambition to own the "entire trip," as the company also experiments with grocery delivery and hotel bookings.
