- Someone inside the restaurant identified the officers as ICE agents, and rumors spread on social media, prompting demonstrators to gather outside Plaza Mexico in Lynwood on Wednesday.
- The air marshals called for help, prompting dozens of deputies from two nearby stations to respond; deputies formed a skirmish line in the parking lot of Plaza Mexico to separate the marshals from about 20 people outside.
- After the marshals left the area safely, deputies cleared the scene within 30 minutes and no one in the crowd was arrested or injured.
