AIKEN MASTER GARDENERS: Poppy seeds should be planted in the fall

I’ve been fascinated by poppies in my flower bed. I first tossed seeds into the bed two years ago. Last spring, only a few poppies bloomed, but this spring, there were many more poppies. I now have an established bed. Now poppies are taking their curtain call. While the flower bed is taken over by Black-eyed Susans, I’m collecting poppy seeds.
