AICWA DEMANDS High-Level Investigation After Rajesh Sharma Falls Ill On Prabhas-Led Fauji Set
AICWA wants a high-level inquiry into whether safety and emergency medical protocols were followed after Rajesh Sharma was hospitalized during filming.
- On Thursday, the All Indian Cine Workers Association demanded a high-level investigation after veteran actor Rajesh Sharma suffered a medical emergency while filming the upcoming movie Fauji at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.
- Sharma was hospitalized after suffering an insect bite on set, which caused high fever and breathlessness, according to actor Sudipa Chatterjee. He subsequently traveled to Kolkata and remains under observation at a private hospital in Dhakuria, West Bengal.
- The association questioned why Sharma was not immediately transported to a leading Hyderabad hospital for emergency care. AICWA further urged authorities to determine if mandatory workplace safety, hygiene, and emergency medical protocols were adequately followed.
- AICWA appealed to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to order an inquiry and urged the production house to bear all treatment costs. The group demanded legal action against responsible parties if investigators establish any professional negligence.
- Stressing that safety must precede production schedules, the association concluded, "The life, health and dignity of every artist, technician and worker are far more valuable than any film production." Workplace safety and emergency medical preparedness must become non-negotiable industry standards.
