TCS Expects AI Agents to Match Human Workforce Within 3 Years, Says Chairman N Chandrasekaran
TCS said AI agents will automate more work and help drive all revenue by the end of the decade, while hiring slows and no mass layoffs are planned.

- TCS headcount fell by more than 23,000 in the fiscal year ended March 2026, and shares have fallen more than 32% so far in 2026, though the firm does not plan to downsize.
- Chandrasekaran expects 100% of TCS revenue will have an AI component before the end of the decade, with annualised AI revenue crossing $2.3 billion in the quarter ended March 31.
