After tough April, Twins reliever Anthony Banda has been nearly untouchable
Anthony Banda has a 0.57 ERA over his last 17 outings after allowing 14 runs in his first 16 appearances.
Twins relief pitcher Banda has dramatically improved, posting a 0.57 ERA across his past 17 outings after struggling with a 9.00 ERA in his first 16 games of the season.
Banda arrived at spring training after a shortened offseason with World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, believing his arm "wasn't in the greatest shape" while adjusting to mechanical changes.
Boasting 14 straight scoreless outings, Banda secured a win in Friday's game with his last run allowed occurring May 8 in Cleveland more than a month prior.
Manager Derek Shelton attributes velocity improvements to warmer weather, while Banda credits body control improvements, saying "Everything started clicking at the right time, really."
The Twins conclude their series against the Louis Cardinals on Sunday, while the team rescheduled a Royce Lewis giveaway for 10,000 fans on June 28.
