A new EU customs fee has led to a fall in low-value online purchases arriving in Finland from outside the bloc, with the number of imported item lines dropping 76.3 per cent in July compared with the same month last year.
Finnish Customs data show the number also fell 66.5 per cent from June, marking a change after two years of growth in low-value ecommerce imports.
The new EU tariff on cheap imported goods already seems to have changed purchasing behavior in Finland. In July, the number of low-cost shipments from abroad fell sharply.
