During a Tuesday meeting with people impacted by the forest fires in Southern California, Mayor Karen Bass said the city is offering online services to people who have lost their jobs. “The fires devastated people’s homes and workplaces equally, extending the direct impact to families in Los Angeles. My commitment is to do everything possible to help people rebuild their homes and livelihoods,” said Mayor Bass.

Residents of the Pacific Palisades district of Los Angeles began returning home on Monday after a large wildfire that is largely contained. The death toll from the weekend's wildfires rose to 29, according to local authorities. However, southern California has only received rainfall.
