The solidarity with the inhabitants of the buried Valais mountain village Blatten in Switzerland is great. The humanitarian foundation "Glückskette" has already received over 17 million Swiss francs (18.14 million euros) of donations for the village. The Swiss Confederation recently provided 5 million Swiss francs (5.33 million euros) and other organisations also collect for the villagers.
In the near future, where there is now a rubble cone, leaves are to be rebuilt. The community is offered prominent help for this: by the architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, who once pleaded for a retreat from the Lötschental.
