Bill Would Ban “Obscene Performances” in Indiana
A bill to ban public funding to fund, organize, or host “obscene performances” has been approved by the Indiana House. Representatives voted 71-20 for the bill after it passed the Senate last week. The House made changes to widen the scope of the bill, replacing “child sex abuse material” with “obscene performances.” Democratic Representative Matt Pierce of Bloomington says the bill addresses a problem that doesn’t exist.
