After breakup with Congress, DMK announces separation from INDIA bloc, to skip tomorrow's meeting
The party cited Congress’s support for Vijay’s TVK and said several other allies also may skip the meeting.

- Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi objected on record at least 14 times over 10 months to SIR decisions issued without their knowledge or recommendation, prompting the Election Commission to assert such differing views are normal institutional deliberations.
- DMK spokesperson TKS Elangovan confirmed his party will not attend, citing Congress's continued association with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam ; Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also skipped due to Rajya Sabha election nominations.
- Despite these absences, parties remain "ideologically" united in opposition to the Bharatiya Janata Party, with leaders from Kerala and other regions expected to participate and coordinate future bloc actions.
- Congress general secretary KC Venugopal stated the bloc aims to "save democracy," with leaders expected to approve a draft notice for parliamentary motions seeking the removal of Gyanesh Kumar from his post.
