Quintet's Terranigma RPG Gets Release in 2027
Clear River Games and Square Enix will bring the long-unreleased Super Nintendo action RPG to modern consoles with physical and digital editions.
- During the Pixel Arcadia retro showcase, publisher Clear River Games announced that Terranigma will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC in early 2027, with both physical and digital editions.
- Originally released in 1995, the final entry in Quintet's Gaia Trilogy never received an official North American release, arriving during the transition to 32-bit consoles and achieving near-mythical status among retro fans.
- Returning to the project, original character designer Kamui Fujiwara is providing new key art and in-game designs, while Clear River Games describes the update as including "upgrades, tweaks and bonus features."
- Clear River Games general manager Ali Manzurin said the game "has cemented its status as a true undiscovered gem," offering longtime fans and newcomers the chance to experience the adventure.
- Pricing and pre-order details remain unannounced for the early 2027 release, though the title will launch with five language options: English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish.
