Three years after the government's decision to reverse the ban on the import of genetically modified food and seed into Kenya, a court of appeal decided to suspend their authorization again in Kenya last week. An unexpected turnaround, celebrated on Thursday, 20 March, in Nairobi by farmers' associations and environmental NGOs at the origin of the complaint, to which the court had wronged at first instance.

While both Norway and Iceland have both resisted Brussels’ regulation on GMOs, they have done so for different reasons.

Norway and Iceland are on the verge of ending a 22-year delay in implementing EU rules on genetically modified organisms – the longest blockage of EU legislation in the Nordic countries.
