- AFP Director of Communications Grgoire Lemarchand stated the removal was "an internal editorial one," noting the "poor" angle, and insisted there was no formal request or external pressure involved despite acknowledging the agency was "made aware" of White House feelings.
- Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth recently restricted press photographers from Pentagon briefings after deeming photos of himself "unflattering," marking a similar administration effort to control public visual representation.
