AFL Great in Serious Condition After Truck Accident
The 57-year-old was airlifted to Flinders Medical Centre after his cattle truck hit a tree, and police asked witnesses for dashcam footage.
On Thursday, AFL legend Tony Modra was airlifted to Flinders Medical Centre following a serious truck crash at Back Valley, about 10 kilometres west of Victor Harbor.
Driving a cattle truck on his Waitpinga property, the 57-year-old crashed into a tree during the afternoon. Police and emergency services responded immediately to the scene.
Renowned as an AFL great, Modra played 165 games for the Adelaide Crows and Fremantle Dockers, kicking 588 goals. He was a two-time All-Australian and three-time AFL Mark winner.
South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas expressed concern for Modra, saying, 'Tony and his family are in our thoughts tonight, and we all hope he'll be ok.'
Police are seeking dashcam footage from witnesses to assist the investigation, while Range Road at Back Valley has since fully reopened to traffic.
