The takeover of the Sisak Steel Plant could be completed in the coming weeks, when the agreement between the Afarak group and the Italian Danieli group is expected to be formalized, announced Afarak Steel on Tuesday, a newly founded Croatian company of the international metallurgical group Afarak, which is controlled by entrepreneur Danko Končar.

"Our ambition is to revitalize production and initiate a thorough transformation of Sisak's industry. We want to open jobs for engineers and other experts and create an environment in which people will be able to build a career in modern industry. The job still needs to be formalized, but we are continuously working on its preparation," said Danko Končar.

The agreement with Italy's Danieli is expected to be formalized in the next few weeks. The project, with all resources and costs, would reach almost 350 million euros.
