Adobe To Feature New AI-Powered Features For Premiere, After Effects At IBC2026

The update adds timeline-integrated generative media, an After Effects AI Assistant, and beta audio tools that can split speakers and auto-duck music.

  • On Tuesday, Adobe unveiled new AI-based tools for Premiere, enabling editors to generate video, sound effects, and music directly within the project timeline without leaving their workspace.
  • The software giant aims to streamline video production "pain points" and "automate tedious tasks," allowing editors to fill timeline gaps with context-aware, editable clips without switching to external applications.
  • Editors can select from models including Adobe Firefly, Google Veo, Runway, Luma, and Kling within the Generative Media Tool, while new audio features like Enhance Audio and Dynamic Auto Ducking automatically balance dialogue and music.
  • Adobe also introduced an AI Assistant for After Effects, currently in public beta, which lets users reorganize projects and create effects using plain-language commands while remaining "in complete creative control."
  • Despite industry pushback, Adobe's 2026 Creators Toolkit Report suggests the majority of creators are not averse to these tools, citing that "nearly nine in ten" use AI creative automation to grow their businesses.
