Adani Power, Druk Green Power Sign Pact to Develop 770 MW Hydropower Project in Bhutan
- Adani Power and Bhutan’s state-owned Druk Green Power Corporation signed an agreement to develop the 770-megawatt Chamkharchhu-I Hydroelectric Project in Bhutan.
- The project will be built on the Chamkharchhu River, with construction expected to start in the first half of 2027.
- Adani Power will hold a 49% stake and Druk Green Power will hold 51% under a 30-year Build, Own, Operate and Transfer arrangement.
- Dasho Chhewang Rinzin said the project would support Bhutan’s winter energy needs and enable surplus power exports to India.
