The aim of their action was to draw attention to the alleged poor conditions in which the animals live. The activists were removed from the premises by the police, their spokesperson in the Vysočina region, Michaela Lébrová, told Novinka. The management of the Stará Říše Agricultural Company does not want to comment on the matter.

The police have ended a protest against the conditions of pig farming in Markvartice. They gradually removed 24 activists from the premises who refused to leave the stable. According to the company, they threatened the animals with disease by breaking into the pig farrowing shed.
