'Acid Attack' Outside McDonald's as Crews Swarm Area and Police Scene in Place
Police arrested two men on Friday after a man in his 30s was hospitalized following a reported 'acid attack' outside a McDonald's in Ashton.
Emergency services were called to a 'hazmat incident' on Warrington Street in Ashton-Under-Lyne at around 4pm, where the alleged assault occurred.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the victim's injuries are not life-threatening, while two men aged in their 40s and 50s remain in custody on suspicion of assault.
A police cordon remains in place near Bow Street with the road sealed off as emergency services continue processing the scene.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue crews attended the incident, though officials stated there is not believed to be any risk to the wider public.
