Acer Announces New ePaper and Triple-Display Monitors
The monitor uses ePaper technology for no backlight, touch input and a 60Hz refresh rate aimed at readers and heavy screen users.
At the IFA 2026 press conference in Berlin on Wednesday, Acer unveiled the EP130K, a portable ePaper monitor designed for professionals performing deep work and avid readers seeking reduced eye strain.
Unlike typical LCD or OLED displays that rely on backlighting, the EP130K skips the backlight entirely, offering paper-like visuals that eliminate blue light and glare for improved readability in bright ambient lighting.
The monitor features a 3200 x 2400 resolution and a 60 Hz refresh rate, addressing typical ePaper sluggishness; bi-stability functionality keeps images on screen even after power is removed.
Expanding its product portfolio, Acer also launched the Acer PD163Q triple screen extender, the Acer C350e portable projector, new Iconia tablets, and 5G connectivity solutions at the conference.
Most new devices are scheduled for release in Q1 2027, with the EP130K starting at USD 749 in North America and EUR 749 in EMEA markets, positioning Acer competitively in the emerging ePaper monitor category.
