The non-profit organization said it would spend one and a half billion in 2024, but a data request from 444.hu revealed that double that amount was spent on it.
The Hungarian Tourism Agency previously claimed that 1.5 billion was paid to influencers for the 2024 party, but this was not true. We requested the names, locations, programs and costs through a public interest data request.
According to an article by 444.hu, instead of the previously acknowledged 1.5 billion forints, the previous government may have spent more than 3 billion on influencers with whom they wanted to promote Hungary.
Instead of the official estimate of 1.5 billion, the Hungarian Tourism Agency actually spent 3.18 billion forints on the 2024 influencer trip.
This is more than double the amount previously reported by the tourism agency.
The money also went to the interests of István Tiborcz and Gyula Balásy.
