Asunción, 23 Jul (EFE).- Paraguay's Minister of the Interior, Enrique Riera, said Thursday that members of criminal groups linked to drug trafficking acted alongside the guerrillas of the Paraguayan People's Army (EPP) in Tuesday night's attack on a police post in a town in the department of Canindeyú (east), which borders Brazil, and left three dead - two of them police - and one injured.
The attack occurred Tuesday night in the community of Naranjito, belonging to the district of Ybyrarobaná, an area that is reported to be characterized by the presence of groups linked to drug trafficking and smuggling.
