Ghana's government said on Tuesday it had repatriated 216 of its citizens from South Africa in the past three days, following a series of xenophobic violence and mass protests demanding the departure of illegal immigrants. Nearly 800 more Ghanaians have been registered for voluntary repatriation from South Africa on chartered flights, the foreign ministry said in Accra yesterday. More than 900 had already been rushed back in May and June.
