Abducted 20 Corps Members, One Other Regain Freedom In Imo
Military and police rescued the victims a week after the kidnapping, and security sources said they were taken to treatment in Owerri.

- The victims were traveling from Ibadan, Oyo State, to orientation camps in Abia State and Akwa Ibom when they were kidnapped en route to the South-East.
- Military personnel and police operatives in Imo State, Nigeria, conducted an operation that secured the release. Security sources reported that 10 victims were rescued at the scene following the intervention.
- Transported to the State Security Service Hospital in Owerri, Imo State, the rescued victims received medical treatment. A yet-to-be-identified civilian was also released during the operation.
- The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, confirmed the rescue in a telephone conversation with His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
