AAR to acquire Aircraft Reconfig Technologies, expanding its engineering and certification capabilities and creating additional revenue streams
AAR will expand its engineering and certification capabilities with a $35 million acquisition, adding about 100 team members and enhancing in-house design certification.
- On Dec. 17, 2025, AAR CORP. agreed to acquire Aircraft Reconfig Technologies from ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions for $35 million in cash.
- AAR said the acquisition will elevate its engineering and in-house certification to drive proprietary MRO solutions and reduce reliance on third parties through Aircraft Reconfig Technologies’ Organization Designation Authorization, supporting growth across over 20 countries.
- Aircraft Reconfig Technologies, founded in 1990, employs about 100 people in Greensboro, North Carolina, and holds FAA Part 21 and 183 ODA plus patents, PMA, and supplemental type certificates.
- Upon closing, AAR will immediately expand engineering and certification capabilities within its Repair & Engineering segment, expecting the acquisition to be accretive to margins and earnings and differentiate AAR in North America.
- The company said the deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of AAR's Fiscal Year 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, and directed readers to Form 10-K 'Risk Factors' for risks.
