The American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) applauds Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) and John Boozman (R-AR) for introducing Senate companion legislation to H.R. 3489, the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Physicist Pay Cap Relief Act, which remove the restrictive pay cap on VA Therapy and Diagnostic Medical Physicists. This pay cap has hindered veterans' access to essential care and worsened staffing shortages at VA medical centers.
