This July 4th marks seven years of the femicide of Karla Velasco, 18 years old. Her family remembered her with an intimate ceremony in the Central Park of Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Karla studied law. Her mother, Maricruz Velasco, reaffirmed her struggle for justice. The person responsible was sentenced to 55 years. Today, her memory lives through a foundation.
