A snowplow and a 10-person crew built this giant snowman in 2007
A family of about 10 sculpted a nearly 12-foot snowman with unique features, attracting many visitors and creating a popular photo spot, officials said.
- Heidi O'Connor's family assembled a nearly 12-foot snowman near Route 11, New Hampshire, using a snowplow/snowblower and a ten-person team to pile and carve the snow.
- Heidi O'Connor's family said they had decided to get everybody together, starting the project a couple weekends earlier and calling it `a good family thing`.
- Plowing a mountain of snow, the family left it to freeze, then carved the figure over a carving weekend using a snowblower and added a big orange candle nose, spray-painted button covers, and homemade sunglasses.
- The installation became a roadside attraction, prompting many photos as visitors stopped for smiles and WMUR News 9 captured excited reactions near the Guilford area.
- Observers say the figure could be a popular Christmas card this year, noting its photogenic homemade shades and oversized appearance.
