It is always nice when there is something to laugh about during a principled discussion about artificial intelligence. And the German press (now, no sneering) is certainly capable of that. A fierce debate has erupted between major German newspapers regarding the use of AI in journalism – with painful revelations, vicious commentary, and ruined reputations. And with a chatbot that wrote a sharp editorial commentary about it.
Several media have recently published texts because they were apparently written by artificial intelligence.
