A Road Crash Involving Multiple Vehicles in South Africa Kills at Least 21 People, Officials Say
At least 21 people died in a multi-vehicle crash involving two minibus taxis and another vehicle in South Africa's Western Cape Province, authorities reported.
The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday on the N1 highway between Prince Albert and Leeu-Gamka, according to Western Cape Mobility spokesperson Muneera Allie.
Several other people were seriously injured in the accident, the provincial transport department stated.
Authorities believe the two minibus taxis collided head-on before the third vehicle crashed into them, as noted by Western Cape Mobility.
