(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kwon Sook-hee = It has been revealed that the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs referred to Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi by her first name only, omitting her title, during a recent official briefing.
When answering a question about Japan at a regular press conference on September 30, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun addressed the woman as "Sanae Takaichi" directly, without using the title "Prime Minister of Japan." The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has removed the title "Prime Minister of Japan" from Prime Minister Takaichi's name, referring to her only by her name. Regarding this change in designation, Akio Yaita points out that it is a tactic seen in Chinese political propaganda.

A rather interesting little move has recently occurred in Chinese diplomacy. Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has been downgraded in status.
