Visitors to a South Carolina beach came across an unusual hazard on the coastline: an unattended sailboat washed up onto the sand near a Myrtle Beach resort.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A sailboat that washed ashore early Monday morning in Horry County has been removed, authorities said. Police said the boat came ashore near the Ocean Creek Resort and that the owner had been accounted for. No injuries were reported.
