Another controversial proposal has slipped into the draft fiscal measures. The state is considering a tax of up to 3 lei on each banking transaction. To cover the budget gap, the parties have also proposed a solidarity tax for Romanians with incomes over 10,000 lei. In parallel, the International Monetary Fund comes with tough recommendations: increased VAT and progressive tax on salaries.
