The 955th anniversary of the Battle of Malazgirt, which opened the gates of Anatolia to the Turks, is being celebrated with great pride and excitement in Ahlat district of Bitlis. Thousands of citizens, carrying Turkish flags, flocked to the People's Garden for the commemoration events, which will be attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Ahead of the program to be attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as part of the celebrations of the 955th anniversary of the conquest of Anatolia, there was great excitement in Ahlat, and citizens flocked to the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan National Park with Turkish flags.

President Erdoğan will attend the ceremonies in Ahlat district of Bitlis today to commemorate the 955th anniversary of the Battle of Malazgirt. Erdoğan will participate in the Ahlat Event Area Program and then visit the Seljuk Cemetery. He will also meet with MHP leader Bahçeli and later chair the third Cabinet Meeting held in Ahlat.
