Doğkem Madencilik is preparing to double the capacity of its limestone and marble quarry and crushing-screening facilities in Menderes, İzmir. According to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) file, the existing area of 24.93 hectares will be expanded to 101.49 hectares. The project plans to remove the topsoil layer in the forest area, use explosives, and consume tens of thousands of cubic meters of water annually.
