A Day In The Park: Lewis And Clark National Historical Park

After Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, along with their Corps of Discovery, reached the Pacific Ocean, they realized they needed a place to weather out the cold, wet winter before heading back to St. Louis. So they built Fort Clatsop on the Oregon side of the Columbia River and this location became the focal point for the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park.
