One hundred years ago, a handful of immigrant families from Germany and other parts of Europe began gathering in a Wetaskiwin living room to worship, pray, and build a life of faith in their new country. The home belonged to Konrad Reimchen, and in those earliest days there was no pastor at all — just laypeople taking turns preaching. From that humble beginning grew the Wetaskiwin Church of God, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this month.
