A bad physiological serum kills four people in Peru, including a baby
On March 20, at Sanna Clinic in the Lima district of San Borja, two bodies were convulsed. A 46-year-old woman who removed a tumor in one of her breasts and a one-year- and twenty-day-old baby who had a fever and diarrhea were both given physiological serum, a solution that hospitals and clinics commonly apply intravenously to administer medicines, dilute substances, treat dehydration, and clean wounds and burns.
Medifarma's spokesperson describes as "isolated case" what happened to the defective serum that left 4 deceased
Defective serum. Medifarma. Before the Health Commission, Guillermo Arboleda pointed out that "his quality system is robust and unalterable," despite deaths. He also acknowledged that there was a failure in the protocol of the production process and quality control. He pointed out that there are two separate operators.
