A 13-year-old boy has died after being attacked by a shark off a beach near the Brazilian city of Recife. The marine predator bit him in the back of his right thigh, severing vital arteries and causing the boy to bleed to death before being taken to hospital.
This beach in eastern Brazil is infamous for its shark attacks. 82 incidents have been recorded since 1992.
